Naalbinding mittens from Iceland
CHECK WHAT`S NEW IN MY NAALBINDING SHOP: https://www.etsy.com/pl/shop/NAALBINDINGFew days ago I finnished two pairs of Iceland naalbinding mittens reconstruction.
One pair is exact like originals from found in 1880 in Arneiðarstaðir, Fljótsdalhérad, east Iceland.
Original is 26 cm long [and 12 cm wide (Pálsson, 1895), made with oslo stitch, dyed probably with moss.
Here is what I made. Sheep fleece is spun on drop spindle, thread vegetal dyed, and naalbinding stitch the same also as original. I tried to make the same shape, so it is what happened:

and another pair is prepared for female hand, it is 21cm long
